01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located at 1620 W Lake Shore Dr in Woodstock, IL, Culver’s delivers a charming slice of classic American dining with a welcoming Midwestern spirit. Known primarily for its fresh, made-to-order burgers and rich, creamy frozen custard, this fast-casual restaurant masterfully blends the convenience of quick service with the quality and comfort of a hometown favorite.

Step inside, and you’ll immediately notice the inviting atmosphere, where friendly, respectful staff greet you with genuine smiles — as praised by many locals like Daniela Budzynski, who admired the effort and politeness of the young team working there. The service here doesn’t just meet expectations; it often exceeds them, creating a welcoming vibe that feels like more than just grabbing a quick bite.

Culver’s menu is a celebration of comfort food done right. The star attractions are undeniably the handcrafted ButterBurgers, including customer favorites like the Mushroom Swiss burger, which is a savory symphony of juicy beef, melted Swiss cheese, and earthy mushrooms. For those craving something a little spicier, the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich is a flavorful punch that pairs perfectly with their signature crispy fries. Seafood lovers can indulge in the expertly fried shrimp, showcasing a delicate crunch with a tender, juicy interior.

Complementing the savory offerings is Culver’s iconic frozen custard, a creamy, velvety treat that melts in your mouth. Whether you’re savoring a double scoop in a cup or trying one of their sundae creations, the quality and richness of the ice cream draw you into a moment of pure indulgence. As Joe Murphy and Conor Cook noted, the portions are generous and consistent, making each visit satisfyingly sweet.

But what truly sets this Culver’s apart is the heartwarming hospitality. One touching story shared by customer Sharon Klein illustrates the kindness here — when her bank card failed, a compassionate cashier didn’t hesitate to pay for her meal, reminding us that good food is best enjoyed with a side of generosity.

Whether you're craving a hearty sandwich, a comforting burger, or a refreshing frozen custard treat, the Woodstock Culver’s provides a reliably delightful dining experience. Its combination of flavorful menu options, attentive service, and community-centric ethos make it a standout destination for locals and visitors alike. If you’re in the Woodstock area, Culver’s is more than just fast food — it’s a place where each visit feels like coming home to great tastes and even better people.

I went to Culvers for a mushroom Swiss burger but my bank card wasn't working. I didn't have but $5 in my wallet so I said I'd have to cancel the order. The cashier said hang on a minute and he got a card out and put it on the card. I was so hungry and I couldn't believe he was buying me the mushroom Swiss burger. That was so very sweet! Thank you again and have a great Thanksgiving! You made my day!

Extremely monitored location by the local PD. Great food, specifically, the shrimp, and new spicy chicken sandwich with fries. Root bear is fantastic. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Specifically the night crew.

The Culver's off of Hwy. 14 in Woodstock was a nice place. I was impressed with the service of the cashiers. I seen one of the managers walk in and before he even got a chance to sign in for the day, he was already taking care of customers. I ordered a double scoop of custard and I actually got the two scoops of custard in my two scoops cup. Why I say that is that the Delavan Culver's gave me a double scoop dish and only gave me half saying that they had to compressed the scoops or it goes by the weight or something cheap like that.

I visited the Woodstock Culver’s on Thursday, January 1 & Monday, January 5, 2026. I am an avid fan of Culver’s and I have visited 44 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky and Florida. As a resident of Northern Illinois I visit this Culver’s very regularly. The food was excellent and the service was quick. I definitely recommend the ice cream and the chicken. 5/5 I will definitely be back very soon. (Written 1-14-26)
